Synopsis of Double Vision
Dillon Richard is a brilliant and meticulous engineer, respected by his co-workers at CypherQuanta, but he has never had a woman interested in him before. Now he's got two, and they're giving him double vision . . .
Rachel Meyers is a quirky, erratic biophysicist who has just developed a quantum computer that will change the world. If Rachel and Dillon can bring it to market, CypherQuanta will be worth billions. But someone is determined to steal the secret . . . and create a rift between Rachel and Dillon.
Keryn Wills is a mystery novelist and part-time chief financial officer at CypherQuanta. She desperately needs to keep Rachel and Dillon working together to finish the project, but she desperately doesn't want them to be friends. Now Keryn finds herself on the run, like a character in one of her own novels, as somebody begins tightening a noose around her and Rachel and Dillon. Somehow, she needs to unravel this mystery -- before it unravels her.
Three secrets. Two women. One man. No time.
Double Vision -- humorous romantic suspense by Christy Award-winning novelist and Berkeley-trained physicist, Randall Ingermanson.
Reviews of Double Vision
Booklist (starred review): "For the inventive Ingermanson, whose previous novels have dealt with time travel (Transgression, 2000) and spaceflight (Oxygen, 2001), Double Vision is rather short on plot. A start-up software company is teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, and treachery is afoot from a rival firm. In a last-minute maneuver, the CEO hires researcher Rachel Meyers to employ a Manhattan Project approach to the development of a radical new encryption system using nanotechnology. Naturally, physicist Ingermanson is superb at describing Rachel's research, not to mention making her a believable young woman. But her coworker, Dillon Richard, runs off with the novel. Dillon is a high-functioning autistic who can write code with such speed that Rachel's research actually becomes practicable. More than that (or less), he's completely literal-minded, so that he doesn't understand metaphors or how two women, Rachel and the company's bean counter, Keryn Wills, can vie for him. His unintentional humor adds just the ingredient to make Double Vision irresistible."
www.tollbooth.org: ". . . Ingermanson is clearly one of the best, if not the best sci-fi thriller writer in Christian books today. This book is full of suspense and one of the most thrilling books of recent memory. There is a great deal of science in this book and not all of it will be understandable to every reader. The readers who don't understand the science in this book, can just skim these parts without missing too much in the story. Those who do understand the science in this story will find it absolutely fascinating . . ."
www.roadtoromance.ca: ". . . Mr. Ingermanson does an excellent job of creating tension between all characters while spinning a wonderful unique plot involving suspense, romance, science, evil, and of course, faith."
