A List of Bible Code Web Sites
The following is a list of various sites around the web that deal with the Bible code.
Doron Witztum's Web Site Doron Witztum is one of the prime movers in Bible code research. Along with Eliyahu Rips and Yoav Rosenberg, he authored the Statistical Science article on the Great Rabbis Experiment. A "must see" site.
Brendan McKay's Web Site Professor Brendan McKay is an Australian mathematician who likes to debunk stuff. He's good at it. He has done lots of work on the Bible code, and has some pretty inflammatory articles. If you're a skeptic, this is your one-stop ammo site. If you're a believer, you owe it to yourself to read McKay.
TalkReason.org A recent compendium of some of the more significant articles on the alleged Bible code by a number of different authors, spanning the gamut from atheists to agnostics to orthodox Jews to conservative Christians. The authors give a variety of arguments why the Bible code is (to use technical language) "a fat load of hooey."
BibleCodeDigest Currently one of the more active sites, run by a group calling themselves the "Isaac Newton Bible Code Research Society." This group includes Ed Sherman and Nathan Jacobi and they believe that some of the alleged "codes" are for real. I've had many long discussions with Ed over the years and we have seldom agreed on anything.
Barry Simon's Web Site Professor Barry Simon is an Orthodox Jewish mathematician at Caltech. He's one of the more influential opponents of the Bible code. This is not a huge site, but it has some very important articles, including The Case Against The Codes. Dr. Simon has some good links to other sites. Top notch.
Mark Perakh's Web Site Dr. Mark Perakh is an emeritus professor of physics who is very well versed in the Bible code. The articles on his site are technical; you'll find them tough going unless you have some kind of scientific background. They're well worth reading and I haven't seen them anywhere else. Some of the articles are coauthored with Brendan McKay. Check it out!
Michael Heiser's Web Site Mike Heiser earned his Ph.D. in Hebrew and Semitic Languages at the University of Wisconsin at Madison. He's wrtten a book entitled The Bible Code Myth which summarizes the textual problems with the Bible code. Mike raises some very serious issues that the codes believers absolutely need to deal with.
